THAI FOOD HUNT IN TAIPEI

by - August 17, 2019

Saa-waa-dee-kaa.

In case you don't know yet, I am a Thai food person. I've visited Bangkok 2 years ago and guess what, most of my spendings is on food, local food. From the 5am morning market, to my second breakfast at 10am, 12pm-8pm for lunch / brunch / afternoon tea / dinner and still having heavy food as supper at 11pm. Serious confession, Thai food is to die for.

While currently living in Taipei, I've had some really disappointing experiences with restaurants claiming to be Malaysians, Vietnamese or Thai. If you google "Thai restaurants in Taipei", no jokes, there are hundreds of them.

Here, I am sharing 3 Thai restaurants in Taipei, which are my current faves too.
Follow my guide, let's go.

MUI MUI
Be camera-ready, it's not fine dining restaurant tho the ambiance feels like, but a very photogenic Thai restaurant serving equally gorgeous food and interiors. Yes, if you didn't read through the menu, you will be a little surprised that it is a Thai restaurant because it looks more like a chilly bar or a fancy dinner place. Thumbs up for the food, so far it's the best Thai restaurant in Taipei all among my list. We ordered spicy stir-fried cabbage, Thai-style stir-fried tofu, stir-fried minced pork with basil, steam sea bass in spicy and lime sauce, hot and sour shrimp tomyum soup, two bowls of rice and 2 glasses of red wine (buy one free one). But too bad I did not take any pics of the food due to the long wait.

HOME'S THAI CUISINE
Also known as 香米泰國料理, no fancy interiors and exteriors, but Home's Thai Cuisine brings out the chill vibes and I personally think that it's perfect for lunch meetings or family bonding times. We ordered pineapple fried rice with shrimp, padthai, tomyum seafood soup, wok-fried minced pork, sago and taro with coconut milk as a dessert, and thai milk tea. Not joking, the tomyum is the bomb.

NAHM
Words to describe Nahm's interiors: Thai style, but in a more modern way. I wish to be back again because we were too full and didn't get to order much. But well, the soul of Thai food, which is their tomyum soup is approved!
